— Collaboration with Heavy Pedal

For this piece, I was inspired by simple shapes, limited color palettes, and geometric abstraction of artists such as Piet Mondrian. I was informed by Heavy Pedal that black kits are always their best sellers, so I wanted to use that as the base of my design. To compliment the darkness, I wanted to highlight the figure using bright, bold, blocks of color and use line work to help further convey the idea of motion.

AIDS/LifeCycle 2022

“Honor those who have passed from AIDS related causes.” This cycling kit was created for the AIDS/LifeCycle ride in California. Proceeds went towards critical HIV/AIDS services provided by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

My interest in Ancient Greek culture helped shape the direction of this project. I drew from the idealized masculinity of classical statues, the athletic forms of Olympians, and the open expression of sexuality that existed in the ancient world. In the final design, I wanted these men to feel mythic and powerful—honoring the way Greek art celebrated the male form and the love shared between them.
