Indeed.com began working on a rebrand in 2020 with an emphasis on “We help people get jobs.” I worked with a team building out their new brand expression from small product illustrations to large hero illustrations.

Problem
Indeed’s ‘Janus’ design system began as a product-focused tool but gradually expanded across the brand. An audit revealed that, without clear guidelines, teams had interpreted it differently—resulting in a fragmented and inconsistent illustration style. When we began the rebrand, it was clear Indeed needed a more cohesive, unified approach.
Solution
We designed a style with built-in lighting, shadows, and textures, allowing designers to focus on crafting realistic figures that authentically represent the jobseeker and employer journey.
Hero & Product Illustrations
Below are Illustrations that are used throughout the branding, and within the product and website. I worked closely with a small team creating illustrations that focus heavily on diversity and inclusion. These illustrations were designed and created within Figma.
Illustration System
Our new Paper Stories illustration style is inspired by real people — reflecting the hundreds of millions who turn to Indeed each month. This diverse collection of characters represents the wide range of nationalities, ages, ethnicities, abilities, and careers we serve. Our goal is for everyone to see a piece of themselves in the work, captured through an artistic lens that’s inclusive and authentic.

Brand Systems Video
Indeed asked me to storyboard a video about the design and rebranding process for their new identity. I was given the copy and was tasked with creating the visuals for the story. I worked with an outside animation studio to bring the final video to life.
Indeed.Design Blog Illustrations
Another big part of my role at Indeed was creating illustrations for the Indeed.Design blog, an inside look at how Indeed’s UX and marketing creative teams build the experiences that help people get jobs and help employers find the people who make them thrive.
